Open interest and volume realtime or delayed

Hey @siva and @nithin : Just want to know if the open interest and volume received in ticks are realtime for that particular price or delayed ?

Is the live open interest(OI) data being provided by exchanges correct?

Everyday the open interest streamed by the exchanges at 3.29 pm to the end of data released at 4.30 pm has a huge variance (sometimes over 40%). Am I missing something? Does it make sense to track the live OI and use it as part of trading strategy?

Thank you for your reply , But I was asking second by second , I heard somewhere that OI is delayed by 3 mintues.

All data feed that you get is live, so there is no 3 min delay in anything, you get to see whatever is the latest OI on exchange. But the intraday OI data itself isn’t really correct as mentioned in my answer on the link above.
