Read the headlines yesterday that grasim has doubled its investments to 10000 crore in paints business n paint stocks falling 5-6%

As far as I rembr , in last couple of years we hav seen entry of new players like indigo paints, jsw paints and now.

  • will this affect Asian paints business negativly ?

  • why r companies entering this industry …which is not new ? wat opportunity r they seeing…

  • how r d prospects if one wants to invest in paint :art: stocks for 3-5 yrs timeframe.

  • if there r any dealers in paint industry , pls share ur views on ground situation

Definitely not a great time to buy as most of the listed stocks are expensive PE wise and with competition going up, customers will be winners like telecom sector.

There is a bit pain in it but i still would like to believe that there is a growth potential for the companies playing in it. Theres a push for infrastructure growth. Besides, other products and services such as water proofing, coating that comes along with it increases the potential with the push.

With you in this. Do not hold anything for now, but i think it may have potential. Can be 100% wrong as well
