# Paytm, Nykaa and Zomato to be included in the Nifty Next 50 and Nifty 500 Indexes

NSE has decided to make the changes in the eligibility criteria of NIFTY equity indices and the replacement of stocks in various indices as part of its periodic review. The changes will be effective from March 31, 2022 (close of March 30, 2022). You can check the announcement from the exchange [here](https://www.niftyindices.com/Press_Release/ind_prs24022022_1.pdf).
Under the existing criteria, the minimum listing history requirement in case of new listing and companies traded after the scheme of arrangement for corporate events required constituents to have a minimum listing history of three months. Which has now been revised to one month.

As part of its periodic review, NSE has also made changes in constituents in various indices, especially the Nifty Next 50 index, which will now include recently listed new-age companies Paytm, Nykaa, and Zomato. So all the ETFs like JUNIROBEES and index funds tracking Nifty Next 50 and Nifty 500 will have exposure to these stocks.

Great to know that lic would come into nifty 50. Hence even if allocation does not come thru at ipo, if one is invested in nifty 50 index or etf, you own this company as well.
But sad to hear paytm zomato coming into nifty next 50. Honestly I do not think they really deserve to be in the next 50 index, but then who am i to agree or disagree. I am sure the best of minds would have decided this. The solace is, the froth on these company has sizably reduced as the market price has crashed
Hope by next review they will be moved out

Everyone who wants will get allotment in LIC IPO. On the contrary I think government is going to struggle getting good response.

I think there is a similar story with SBI Bank IPO, everyone who applied for the IPO were given allotment on some basis. I am not sure if this is true, It is a story I have heard from someone. Can’t seem to be able to find any history online for it.

I think that market cap is the criteria for getting included in Nifty50 and next50. If these companies fulfil that criteria then these will be included. This is how passive funds function.

“moh maya” exist in the market which is why am a trader. How else can we explain the phenomena - companies without supporting cash flow and just future promises list at the astronomical prices some of these digital companies listed ?
The dotcom bubble at the turn of this century had a similar tint to this and finally it burst.
