If I buy LiquidBees on Friday and if I have to pledge and get margin , it can happen only after 5 days. i.e only on next Thursday. Why should it take 5 days when everything is automated ?

The settlement cycle in India for Equities is T+2. If you buy units on a Friday, the delivery of such units will take place on Tuesday, they would be transferred to your demat account on Tuesday and start showing under your holdings from Wednesday onwards. On Wednesday if you create a pledge, you will receive the benefit of it from Thursday onwards. This can further get delayed by one day if your original purchase results in a short delivery.
Pledge can only be considered after successful delivery to your demat.
