In Kite Range Bars shows a version of Range Bars which are Renko Smoothed Range bars and not actual Range Bars. Actual Range bars may have tails on top/bottom and always opens 1 tick beyond the close of the prior candle
thus making the Range bars reliable as they don’t “discard” any information.
And whats even strange is that on the evening of 15th August 2017 Kite suddenly showed actual range bars with tails wherever necessary. It also showed the same on 16th August. But from yesterday 17th August again the range bars became smoothed out like renko.
Why was this changed again without any warning ??
It very important to understand that the current Range bars in Kite are not actual Range bars. They discard a lot of useful information and looks flat with the Renko smoothing that is currently going on whereas the original Range bars showed the correct data.
So please bring back the Original Range bars. You can’t say thats its not possible because it was there for more than 1 day and i even used it for trading on 16th August. Please consider fixing this ASAP.
This has been spotted and noted. This will be fixed in the next Kite chart update which will be passed next week. We’ll keep you posted. Sorry for the trouble.

Its been a Month now and still the Range Bars are not fixed yet. It seems to me that its a simple fix. Not even a fix, just showing a basic version of something that is the Range Bars without the Renko smoothing.
It really doesn’t seems to be a big thing at all. Because the Range bars is first needed to make Range Bars + Renko Smoothing thats being currently shown, so how hard can it be to just show the Range Bars as it is without the Renko Smoothing.
Its a bit worrying that the request was made a month ago and still nothing about this is fixed as of yet. I was hoping that this would be fixed with the new version of Kite that will be released but nothing yet. So when can we finally get the correct Range Bars Charts.
This fix will be applied in the new version of Kite charts and the new version of Kite charts will come out with the new version of Kite. We’ve reported a bulk of fixes to ChartIQ which is the engine powering Kite charts and they should be resolved in the new version. Apologies for the delay.
Please sir don’t remove Range bars with Renko smoothed one. I have made profit by applying it. if you want to add the original one than add it so please keep this Range bars with Renko smoothed also. it is a completely new chart style.
Its October 3rd now and Range Bars are still not fixed. How long should a person wait for a simple fix as this ? Over 2 months have passed since the request was made to fix this. And still the same issue is present. When can this be expected to be fixed finally ?
