With no fixed buyback price anymore, companies are just going to scoop up shares at prevailing market prices. Is this a raw deal for us, or do you see an upside?

Also, how do we get to know that there is an ongoing buyback ?
SEBI Board meeting outcome clarifies that there are two methods for buy-back:
- Tender offer - from existing shareholders on a proportionate basis
- Open market - through the book-building process or stock exchange
What was actually discontinued was the open market buy-back through the stock exchange method (effective April 1, 2025). This consultation paper (dated April 2, 2026) proposes to
Reintroduce the open-market stock exchange method.
The tender offer method has remained available throughout and remains a valid option for companies to buy back their shares.
