Sell and buy back the same shares

Hi All,

I have a doubt regarding trading of a stock, use case is mentioned below please let me know your thoughts

I bought 50 shares of a company A at a price 100 each on August 12.

I sold these 50 shares on August 14 at a price 120 expecting profit of 1000. It was sold and I got confirmation from NSE regarding share transfer.

Later in the afternoon, when I realised that share price of company A had come down to 95, I decided to buy again 50 shares at 95. I again received share trasnfer pdf from NSE with all details

My doubt is , what will be my share average at the end of the day? I got to know from zerodha faq that it should be 95 and I should have 1000 profit in my console. What are your thoughts ? I have mentioned the link below to access zerodha FAQ regarding the subject

The screenshot you have shared is for stocks that are settled on Trade-To-Trade basis (stocks in which Intraday isn’t allowed)

For other stocks, it will be considered as Intraday trade and this will have no effect on your buy average, as is mentioned at the start of same article.

@ShubhS9, thanks for your response. So it is going to be with average 100 and no profit for me as well ?

I sold these 50 shares on August 14 at a price 120 expecting profit of 1000. It was sold and I got confirmation from NSE regarding share transfer.

Later in the afternoon, when I realised that share price of company A had come down to 95, I decided to buy again 50 shares at 95.

You sold at 120 and bought back at 95, so Rs. 25 per share will be your Intraday profit.
