I have 2L worth of HCL Tech shares and look to fully switch to TCS on the same day. However I have heard that not all money is available on the same day. What margin % is available on the same day and approx. how much more do I need more assuming low cash balance… an approx answer is all I need…

When you sell shares from holdings 80% of the sale proceeds will be immediately available for trading. In the above case, when you sell shares worth 2 lakhs, 1.6 lakhs will be available for buying shares, the remaining amount will be available from the next day.
