STT for futures sold and physically settled on expiry

I sold one lot futures of a stock @690 and at expiry the futures price is @660 lot size is 650. I did not square off my position and I possess 650 shares in my demat account. Now
1. what is STT charges in this case?
2. what is physically settled value in this case?

STT is applicable at 0.1%. The physically settled value will be Settlement Price * Lot Size. In the above scenario presented by you, it’ll be 429,000 (660 * 650). You can learn more about physical settlement here.

STT will be charged twice in this case:

  1. when I initiate a short position in futures @.01% of contract value? please clarify this?
  2. when shares are debited from my account @.1% of physically settled value

No STT will be applicable when you square-off your Short Futures position before expiry as STT would be already paid when you took short position. For Equity Futures, STT is applicable only on sell side.
