It is upto you, there is no reason for us to lie to our clients. CDSL APIs are not working accordingly in all cases, we are still following up on that.
@siva-reddy Can you please confirm if the new system will be live today?
Otherwise I’ll pledge using the old system.
May be wait for a day.
Please inform through email or sms , after new system implemented sucessfully .
Sure.
Dont be so Arrogant…if ur not able to go live …accept the truth and dont blame CDSL…or give official mail by zerodha…that CDSL is bottleneck…I have already talked to CDSL investor relations and they were surprised to hear that some person from zerodha is claiming that problem is with CDSL…I also Confirmed with BBF(Bombay Broker Forum)…Who are doing live webinars on this issue…and they too confirmed that system is live and running…only issue is of UCC Seeding of some miniscule clients…
Hi @siva-reddy
Just curious to know, CDSL communication says the cost for Pledge per script is around 12Rs earlier and now they are slashing these rates, even if you take Pledge and Unpledge it comes to around 24Rs. Whereas Zerodha was charging Rs. 60+ GST.
Does Zerodha have 100% + Profit Margin on this? Am I missing something?
Please advice.
This pledge/repledge is a new mechanism going live now. Until now the securities actually moved out of your demat account, so the fixed charges were higher for that. We will figure out the effort involved from our side on this pledge/repledge and then decide the charges. We should have all answers by Saturday. We will put out a blogpost on the same.
Hi @nithin, @siva-reddy,
Will we able to pledge securities like Mutual Funds as part of the new mechanism?
Sorry - this is a big news for F&O investors, cannot wait until Saturday
@nithin, Isn’t Saturday too late? One day for squaring off existing positions/unpledging, then one day for re-pledging. And Monday (31/8) is the only working day after that.
Unless the whole thing’s getting delayed, then it doesn’t matter…
Tomorrow we should allow.
Likely we will start from tomorrow.
Thanks for your update. Looking forward to it.
You wouldn’t have to square off positions and all. You will get the securities back to your demat, CDSL will send you a link asking you to authorize the pledge, you click on it and enter the OTP, that’s about it. This can be done anytime during the evening or even on saturday. There are some issues with CDSL being able to send the new pledge links, they are sorting this out.
Wow. that’s great to hear… A long pending update better late than never…There were many persons worried about taking new positions for September series without doing a re-pledge (un-pledge and then pledge again).
Correct me if i am wrong in the below points
-
I guess tomorrow we can take new positions using existing margin (through existing pledged securities) and then there is no need to close those positions when the securities come back to DEMAT account.
-
Also for existing pledges, I infer that we don’t have to re-initiate the pledge and it is automatically done by Zerodha/CDSL. In such a case how about the transaction cost for this?
Thanks for Zerodha team for above new pledge system confusion/late implementation. During this month I trade very small & making money.
Can someone please upload the new list of securities including mutual funds that can be pledged, so that we can planned accordingly.(irrespective of when the new pledge system goes live in Zerodha) or is that list also pending with CDSL…
It is not automatic. You have to initiate the pledge again from console/backoffice.
And there will be charges for it (Rs. 60 + tax as per current available info) .
If it’s not automatic then we need close our positions right? But nithin said no need to close positions.
Waiting for a clear picture…
