There is no immediate 80% equity sell credit in equity delivery now?

@ShubhS9 we get 80% sell credit immediately on Zerodha or will Zerodha block 100% of the sell credit for 1 day from now?

From above tweets and links, finvasia, fyers are blocking 100% of sale proceeds.

Any idea which other brokers are blocking 100% of delivery sell credits ?

And why are exchanges discouraging cash trading when volumes are falling in cash market day by day. Very sad

Nothing changes for you at Zerodha. You will continue to get 80% of the sale proceeds when you sell shares from holdings, while the remaining 20% will be available from the next day. Just like it is now.

Thanks for the clarification.

Any idea why some of the other brokers are blocking 100% of sale proceeds? @Ragavendran_M

This could be because they might not be doing EPI (Early pay-in) of shares to the depository against sell transactions. NSE recently issued circular which said that to give credit of sale proceeds on same day, EPI has to be done. If EPI of shares is not done, the credit recieved from selling these shares cannot be used for trading.

Since we do EPI at regular intervals, this doesn’t affect us and we provide 80% or the sale proceeds instantly when the shares are sold, while remaining 20% are available on the next day.

When EPI is done. Why 100% is not available. I’m under impression Nithin sir told full sale value is available to buy new stocks of EPI done
