Unable to close option bought

Hello,

I was unable to close my hedge position of 17450 PE of todays expiry.

It says there are no buyers. Since it is going to expire worthless, will I be charged anything extra apart from the loss of premium ? How come such a scenario rose in the first place ? Will the exchange square it off ?

It’s going to expire worthless so no buyer wants to throw away 5 Paisa to buy this option.

Your option will simply expire worthless (otm) & you won’t incur any extra charges.

As the option is OTM, it’ll expire worthless. There is no penalty for letting the position expire.
