Unable to find Fixed Maturity Plan MF from Coin

Hi,

I was trying to search for MF “SBI Fixed Maturity Plan (FMP) - Series 5 (92 Days) Direct - Dividend” but i couldn’t find it.

can you please let me know why Fixed Maturity Plan (FMP) MFs are not available on Coin platform?

Tushar, it never really went well with the way Coin was designed. Plus none of the Coin users really asked for FMPs.

Having said that, most FMPs are terribly designed product. In the past year since we’ve had all these issues with debt funds, FMPs were some of the most badly hit ones, with double digit NAVs drops. In some cases like Kotak and HDFC, the maturity was rolled over.

You pretty much get the same exposure you are looking for with an open ended debt fund.

Now I dont want both of them. I’d rather look for some better investment instrument. :+1:
