In an order there is a limit of 200 lots.

Overall, you as a client can take positions upto 5% of the total open interest of the contract.

what does it mean by 2.5% of the open interest ? please elaborate for say GODREJIND future which was having the open interest of 12,91,500 as per nseindia.com in last trading day.

So 2.5% of 12.91lks or around 33000 is the maximum you could have held in futures positions.

Ah entered wrong number, it is 5% of OI. Check this link and under individual clients.

If the total open contracts are 1lk, an individual client can’t take positions for more than 5000 or 5% of that open interest.

Check this link on NSE.

Can we able to exit short position if 500 crore limit has been reached ?
