My friend was trying to sell his TCS equity shares yesterday.
He placed the order well within the price range close to to current price.
The quantity is also correct and he confirmed that from his holdings window.
But still after placing the sell order, it becomes auto canceled with Rejected status Reason: canceled by the exchange.
So I would like to know under what circumstances exchange would cancel my order.
As far as I’m concerned, when you sell shares of “A” category stocks, orders will not get rejected from the exchange if you don’t hold it in your account. These settings are made by respective brokers.
If the order gets rejected from the exchange, then the reason could be a technical glitch or it was not placed in between the price range decided by the Exchange to prevent the erroneous entry at the time of placing order.
Thanks, But TCS is A category, and as well the price was well within day’s range, and close to the current market price.
Any ideas why the reason says, canceled by the exchange?
