In case you are using the MTF function in the strategy conditions the conditions are checked on a partial candle basis of the selected higher time frame. Hence due to the use of partial candles, the MTF alerts can be unverifiable in the charts and the backtest have a look-ahead bias.
However, the MTFC function checks the conditions on completed candles only hence all the alerts are verifiable, and backtest doesn’t have a look-ahead bias. Refer to the below links to understand this in detail with examples-
