Nothing beats ELSS when it comes to returns over a sufficiently long horizon, but you will have to stomach the associated volatility of equities. Here are the historical returns
Categoty/Index | 1Y | 3Y | 5Y | 10Y |
---|---|---|---|---|
Equity: ELSS | -5.75 | 13.03 | 16.48 | 17.33 |
NIFTY 50 Index | 1.42 | 13.78 | 12.69 | 14.55 |
NIFTY Midcap 100 Index | 14.66 | 11.46 | 17.59 | 17.76 |
NIFTY Smallcap 100 Index | -26.77 | 8.11 | 13.71 | 14.91 |
NIFTY 500 Index | -3.87 | 13.46 | 14.2 | 15.42 |
As you can see ELSS as a category has beaten almost all the indices including the NIfty 500 broad market index. These funds are multi-cap in nature - meaning they can invest across market cap’s.
You really have a lot of information regarding such investment instruments, hopefully other forum users can make use of your knowledge on these matters. Best Wishes. Thank you.
