Investor apply for stocks through IPO or buy it from secondary market seeking good returns from them . Hence Those in management of the company are also the shareholders of the company and they care of the stock market is because they have interest in the monetary benefit for them as well.
Companies live and die by their stock price. company’s stock price is a matter of concern. If performance of its stock is ignored, the life of the company and its management may be threatened with adverse consequences, such as the unhappiness of individual investors and future difficulties in raising capital.
