Why is there difference in FII data shown on NSE website and NSDL?

Was checking FII activity data and found that there is big difference between figures shown on BSE and NSE websites and NSDL website. What is the reason for this?

For ex. This is what I see on NSE for June 3rd

And this on NSDL

The difference can be because of the way data is reported. As per the information provided on NSE website; Combined FII/FPI trading data across NSE, BSE and MSEI collated on the basis of trades executed by FIIs/FPIs. It looks like the exchange provides data only for trades that are executed on the exchanges, ie. in the secondary market.

The exchange has also explained that the trade data on the website is provisional and is subject to change based on the custodial confirmation process, modifications, etc., and for final data refer to the NSDL website.

Adding to the above as per this note on the NSDL website. The numbers reported include transactions on exchanges as well as purchases and redemption of mutual funds. Also, the net figures on NSDL include transactions in the primary market like activities involved in right/bonus issues, private placement, merger & acquisition, etc.

One more thing to note, the data on the NSE website is for that particular trading day. While the data on the NSDL website is on and up to the previous trading day, ie. the data displayed for 3rd June 2022 is for the previous trading day, 2nd June 2022.
