World is short of eggs πŸ₯š

Egg prices are up by nearly 50% in last one year in US mainly due to strain of avian flu which is highly contagious and kills 90 to 100 percent of chickens within 48 hours if exposed to the virus. Because of its virulence, health officials have had to preemptively slaughter millions of birds.

Meanwhile, there is shortage in other countries, for example : Malaysia and this is leading to a windfall exports for Indian egg producing companies.

Although, the move is not yet seen in listed egg companies like SKM egg products and Venky’s chicken, it needs to be seen what is the impact on the companies if the issues persist in other countries.
