When will the Zerodha Margin Calculator for F&O be updated reflecting the new NSE requirement to increase margins in 4 steps? Is it showing the increase for sept 14th date already? Its hard to plan any trades without knowing what is the margin needed.
The same changes are already reflecting on margin calculator.
@nithin Looks like many newbie traders are having similar doubts on whether the margin calculator is updated or not.
Could you please add a line on the page saying, Margin calculator is updated with latest margins as per ASM requirements.
Thank you
It is updated accordingly with new GSM margins, I am from Zerodha and I can confirm you on the same.
Thank you. I didn’t know you were from Zerodha.
I am curious if there is a simulator margin calculator which will show how much more will be required after 28th September and also after end of November.
I am very new to trading so I want to figure out whether it is even feasible to trade with 1 odd lac after December.
I have one hedged position.
on Basket, margin is showing 1.97L.
on Zerodha margin calculator margin is showing 62K.
which one is correct?
Thanks!
Basket Order shows you two margins, Required Margin (is what will be required to place all the orders in the basket) and Final Margin (is the eventual margin that will be blocked in the trading account after the order execution).
In the Basket, you can keep Long Option position ahead in the sequence, this will reduce your required margin, as once buy leg is executed you get margin benefit beforehand for taking short position.
The final margin shown in Basket and Margin Calculator will be the same (though the margins shown on margin calculator won’t include premium you have to pay (premium * lot size) for long options, this you’ll have to add manually to the margin figure you get).
Yeah, after premium paid including… Both margin are same.
Thanks.
