For example, I got Rs. 10000 from Bajaj Auto in their Buyback and my buy price was Rs. 6000. Do we have to report the whole Rs. 10,000 in the exempt income section in the Income Tax or only the difference of Rs. 4000?

The gains from the buyback, i.e. ₹4000 in your case, need to be reported under the schedule EI(exempt income).
