Price difference between 31st Dec 2002 and 1st Jan 2003

While studying charts of many nifty 50 companies, one can see there is a big gap between the prices of stocks between 31st Dec 2002 and 1st Jan 2003.

Can you pls tell us why is that so? Is there some price adjustment prior to 1st Jan 2003 that you are missing?

This might have happened because of the Gap Up, Gap Down scenario, which happens because of some news events that have happened after the market close.

There is no special price adjustment mechanism for date change from 31 Dec to 1 Jan. The market runs as usual in the normal manner.

For few stocks corporate actions are not adjusted before 2004, may be for that reason.

Would it be possible to update it for atleast top nifty companies?
