Spam emails from linkintime, in my Zerodha mail address

I have got a couple of spam emails from the domain linkintime.co.in . The latest one is promoting something called “Swayam”. These emails come to the email address that I use exclusively for my Zerodha account.

I did not sign up for anything from this domain, as far as I can remember. And I definitely don’t use my Zerodha email address for anything else.

When I search on tradingqna I find references to this domain as a “registrar”, in announcements made by Zerodha employees.

So now I am confused: This looks like a legitimate entity, but why and how are they sending me spam using an email address that I exclusively used for Zerodha signup?

Your email address is not just with Zerodha, it’s with NSE, BSE, CDSL, etc now. Zerodha has to pass it on to all those bodies.

All these companies are creating their own portals for tiny things like just viewing corporate actions. Very annoying.

MFCentral Portal
Smart ODR portal
CDSL portal
CDSL e-voting portal
SEBI scores portal
and what not.

They learnt to hire 2-3 web developers and then they need to advertise their brand new portal.
