10K investment in Gilt ,GSEC and Liquid

10K investment in Gilt ,GSEC and Liquid - which one will be good for more than 5 year tenure?

Gsec - 73GS2053-GS
Gilt - LTGILTCASE
Liquid - LIQUIDCASE

Well i would say investing in LTGILTCASE seems an better choice in compassion with GSec and and liquid for 5 year

Thats if u bought at issue price, is it still 100 highly doubtful

don’t have much experience on this

Gsec - Low liquidity , Capital growth and coupon payment , No expense deductions , rate risk , freedom in rate changing cycle
Gilt - LTGILTCASE - High liquidity , Capital growth no coupon payment , expense deductions , rate risk
Liquid - LIQUIDCASE - High liquidity , low return , expense deductions , rate risk (but impacting the daily compounding not capital like Gilt or Gsec )

honestly bro absolute return on 10k is going make 0 difference

Liquid

Gilt

Gsec
7.46 Perc return approx , based on my purchase

Note :
New GSec offer show indicative yield as 7.08 , coupon as 6.48 % and Price as 101.02 Maturity year as 2035 . Not sure why it show 7.08
calculation show
Yield based price : 6.48 *100/101.02 = 6.41
Capital depr = (101.02 - 100)/ 9 = 0.11
Total ind Yield = 6.41 - 0.11 = 6.3

Thank you.

I am looking to improve my asset allocation based on this.

  • I need a solution using Zerodha Kite.
  • I currently have Liquidcase, and a portion of it needs to be reallocated to G-Sec or Gilt ETFs to improve returns and cash flow

My current allocation as follows
Liquid / Cash ETFs - 70.6%
Gold ETFs - 3.6%
Silver ETFs - 2.7%
Nifty50 ETFs - 2.6%
Equity + Other ETFs - 20.5%

Thank you.

Zerodha Kite (web) is my primary tracking and execution platform, so I am looking for a solution that can be managed entirely within it.

Accordingly, I have excluded:

  1. Multi-asset funds
  2. Coin-based FD options (8.1% yield)

it is diffcult to mange each asset individually - if you are trying to manage in kite directly - returns will be not much - as a retail investor its very difficult to beat returns

make it simple

Equity - 38 %
Debt - 22 %
commodities - 10 %
Real estate - 0.61 %
Cash - 30 %

Equity and commodities may be satelite portion towards 27 Perc return

these allocation will be changed upon market situation - valuation geopolitics

in 2024 equity went upto 78% - now its only 37.5% - still this fund deliver 27% 1 year return

this fund will never disappointed you
