A person have 3 shares of a stock . Currently its more than 20 perc up from avg buying price . He add 1 share at a time to maintain his min 20 perc gain .
How would you handle this situation? What would you do here?
- If the stock is already giving 20%+ profit, would you continue pyramiding or just trail the existing position?
- Does adding only 1 share at a time reduce emotional pressure compared to averaging with larger quantity?
- What happens if the newly added share immediately goes into loss and pulls overall profit below 20% — would you stop adding or hold?
- Is maintaining a fixed minimum portfolio profit (like 20%) a better approach than using stop-loss based only on price action?
- Can this “3 shares first, then 1-by-1 scaling” method work better for small investors compared to lump-sum investing?
- Do You have any other ideas on this scenario?
