A big name fiasco

Hi @nithin I came across a big name blunder here

it is regarding name format used in Aadhar and pan card

in states of gujarat and some western states middle name is mostly fathers name and surname

Say name in aadhar is

Kamath Nitin Raghuram

He generates E pan which will fetch all details as it is from aadhar
point to note there is no name format in aadhar so gujarat side people will write surname first as in there marksheets it is first

Now you will open demat account taking Data from ITD which also has same name

in your data base
first name → Kamath
middle name → Nitin
Last name or surname → raghuram

This will create chaos in names when you send something

as mostly for short conservation you will ignore middle name

So you will call customer as Kamath Raghuram

I have asked same question to many banks also but they ignore to answer hope you will answer

as a solution you will say to rectify name in Aadhar and pan
but the problem is in almost all documents in Gujarat, Last Name first name format is followed

in passport also surname is first and name is last
so as name change documents no other documents can be given

---------- scenario 2

Aadhar card name
Kamath Nitin Raghuram

and Normal pan card NOT E pan

Nithin Raghuram Kamath (this is ITD data base name )
pan display name is (Kamath Nitin Raghuram)

then when you go for CVL Verification again it says name mismatch

If one doesn’t follow a proper naming convention, subsequently confusion is bound to happen, right?

You have described challenges faced by individuals,
who have improper/mismatched names in their various legal documents.

What’s your question though?

My question mainly is dont blindly take name from database allow user to type in name

Because namings un documents dont have formats and in your system you have a format first name middle name last etc
