Active contract Option Put not not trading

Since last 2 days I have been observing Nifty December Future 8050PE is not trading (it simply doesn’t open !)

Expiry of the contract is on 31st December. Any idea why is it so?

The more deep in the money an option becomes, lesser the liquidity/trading volume. Also trading volumes in general are lesser on the strikes which are ending in 50, like 8050, 7950 etc. Best to trade the 8000, 7900, etc.

If I purchase such option and after certain days (2/3 days…like above ) it simply doesn’t open, will I able be able to sq.off my position? Or I would lose my entire money.

You’ll lose money unless it expires in profit.
