Too many indicators kill the trade and the trader. But it is important to know the basic/ important ones. I think TA module by NCFM is really a good one. It has all the right content in simple language.

2) To remain updated on latest indicators you can have a look at www.traders.com, where experts explain their indicators and the codes are also available for free.
