Are conservative hybrid funds better than pure debt funds?

Conservative hybrid funds (ICICI, Canara) doesnt show much up/down since max of 30% equities are allowed and the returns are more than 10%. Is it good to invest in conservative hybrid funds rather than debt funds which offers 6% returns on average

This will depend on when you need the money and the risk you are willing to take. Even a little bit of equity can make the fund very volatile. You are just seeing the returns from the past 1 year, where the marketers were rallying and there was no major credit crisis. See their return for the year 2008 and then try to understand how risky they can be. In my opinion better stick to FDs and short term funds if you don’t want risk.
