Ask me anything about Zerodha Fund House

Am holding Zerodha Large Midcap 250 Index Fund in coin as per my previous experience we can’t transact in demat folios out side Coin. Even in Particular AMC websites. So now ZFH has option to buy units for our existing folio by whatsapp chat+91 98453 35486. Out of curiosity I put ₹1500 via whatsapp.
SS for reference attached. So how this will work. How coin handle this transaction? Nav Day etc…

Hi @SanJanJayadevan

Whatsapp transactions are enabled for all the investors who have investments in Zerodha Nifty LargeMid Cap 250 irrespective of the holding type (Demat or SOA)

While confirming the Whatsapp transaction you will see a folio number and once the transaction is posted, the investment will be visible on the platform through which that folio was created.

In the case of Coin, we send the reverse feed to them and then as per the below timeline the units are created and the NAV is applicable.

  • Transactions and applications submitted before 3 PM will get the same-day NAV.

  • If submitted after 3 PM, the next day’s NAV will apply.

That’s Cool. I Tried Mf Central To Transact but they didn’t allow. Hope all AMC will follow this.

I really loved it.
Need Freedom To Invest In Same Folio(Demat)Via Different Platform Like SOA.

Investing via whatsapp giving extra 1hr For Same Day Nav😌

Coin Cut off Time is 2PM vs 3PM For WhatsApp

Hi @VishalJain I was disappointed to see zerodha fund house spamming on WhatsApp for their Gold FOF NFO. Sending a mail is fine as there is unsubscribe option, but spamming on whatsapp when user didn’t sign-up and no way to Stop or opt-out is disappointing.
The fund house parent company Zerodha never sends any whatsapp message, please take this feedback and give an opt-out from whatsapp. Thank you

Hi @VishalJain, I would like to know about your opinion on GILT ETF. There is a concern that GILT ETF in India have serious liquidity issues. Do you see any plans for Zerodha to launch one? like the Nippon LTGILTBEES?

Gilt ETFs have been around for a while and have seen recent interest in the last few years which has resulted in increased volumes and traction and the Nippon LTGILTBEES is one of them. One needs to remember that for any ETF the liquidity depends on the underlying it is investing in and generally Gilts are fairly liquid. At this point the number a market makers in the Indian market is limited and that is something the entire industry is continuously working on to strengthen and you would have seen sharp increase in volumes across ETFs over the years and this will keep getting better as more players come in. as ZFH, we are still working on the set of products on the debt side we can do but cannot give a timeline on the same.

Great. Thanks for your insights!

Any update on launching passive hybrid funds

Hey Anil, we are still awaiting regulations on this. Rgds

Hi @VishalJain

Can you share some insights about the existing Zerodha MFs, how it has performed compared to peers? How has it been treated by the investors?

Hi, can you publish iNAV on exchanges like GoldBeES? It is easier to track difference.

iNAV missing for goldcase

Or is this an issue with Kite?

The iNAV for GOLDCASE is published on the website of the respective exchanges (NSE & BSE). On Kite specifically, the ticker is GOLDINAV. Let me know inase there is some issue. Rgds

Thanks, it is coming up when I search GOLDINAV. It would be helpful if the name of GOLDINAV included goldcase so that it comes up in search on all apps

Hybrid Passive Funds - Hybrid ETFs/ Index Funds. When are you launching the funds mentioned in above article.

Hey Anil, the regulations come into effect only from March 16, 20125, so hopefully after that.

Not sure if it is a typo or if it’s really March 20125. Going by the speed of feature implementation by your colleagues managing Kite/coin, I won’t be surprised if this is the actual timeline :stuck_out_tongue:

Sir,

  1. Can you please tell the cutoff time for zerodha largemid250 through whatsapp investment and coin app investment?
  2. What’s is your monthly or lumpsum investment in the same fund or category(largemidcap 250)?

I read your recent blog post about zerodha fund house. @VishalJain

  1. Any hints about which passive funds are coming next?
  2. I would like to know your views about factor index funds(like Nifty Midcap 150 Momentum 50) and if you are planning to launch them this year! The major concern about them being that they have been curve fitted to show great backtest results but wont work in reality when serious money chases that factor.

Hey,

For Whatsapp its 3pm for subscription & redemption to be eligible for same day NAV, subject to receipt and application of money hitting our servers before 3pm. As a precaution, urge you to not wait till the last minute. For coin they follow different cut-off timings for various payment methods. You could reach out to COIN support to understand that further.

As for my investments, most of my investments over the last 20 years have been in passive products in the Large & Midcap space and presently stands at around 70%.

Hope this helps!
