Avaible cash showing negative after taking positions

Hi

I have taken 1 OTM buy options and 1 ATM sell options both intraday only(MIS) to get margin benefit and to reduce the sudden movements.
Which costs around 40k(sell 39k+buy 1k)

I have collateral margin of 4.7L and cash of 16k.

After taking positions, It is showing I have negative avaible cash which is -584 but total avaible margin is positive only.

My thoughts are collateral is used for selling which is around 39k and cash is used for option buy which is around 1k
but why cash balance is negative after taking position even though I have 16k cash?

And if cash balance is negative(intraday only i.e MIS), will zerodha charge interest per day in any way?
and is there any peak margin penality or any other penality?

You can see my daily equity margin statement

Can anyone from answer this from zerodha side, Thanks

Hi @VijayVardhan111

The exchanges require that 50% of the margin for F&O positions must be in cash or cash equivalent collateral, while the remaining 50% can be in non-cash collateral margin. Hence, the cash balance was negative.

As it is not an overnight shortfall, there won’t be any penalty or interest.
