Hi,
I wanted to know what will be the avg price of buying in the following case:-
I bought 14 stocks of X company at price 330 on 1st Aug 2021.
I sell all 14 stocks of X at the price of 250 on 23rd Aug 2021.
I buy 10 stocks of X at a price of 260 on 23rd Aug 2021.
The stock is not in the T2T category and all the orders were CNC.
When you sell the shares from your holdings and buy back the shares on same day, this is considered as an intraday trade. This does not have any effect on buy average. You can check out this support article for more information.

But the quantity is different. So, won’t that thing matter?
If the shares sold on the same day is more than what is bought on that day, then the number of shares sold equalling the number of shares bought on that day will be considered as intraday and will not be considered for buy average calculation. For the rest of the shares sold in excess of the quantity bought for the day, the buy average changes on FIFO basis. For eg: If you bought 40 shares and sold 50 shares on 18th August, then 40 shares are considered as intraday and the rest 10 are taken out on FIFO basis for calculation of buy average. Hope this helps.

Got it thanks.
Just few more things to clear…
- The changed avg price due to 4 shares will get reflected after T+2 , right?
- In my console, I am seeing that, the shares which I sold had bought price different than the original , in this case , it is showing as 289 instead of 330. Isn’t this a weird thing?
Thank you so much for the help.
