Bid Qty Vs Volume which?

in 5 mins charts the volume is lesser than the bid qty in snap quote im confused pls advice which is corrrect qty.the volume is less less than bid.

Volume that you see on the chart is the traded volume. That is the bids/offers that got matched.

Yes, the traded quantity will usually be lesser than the bid quantity as people might keep modifying the bid prices multiple times.

If you are trying to analyse, look at traded volume. Tracking the Bid/ask quantity is misleading. Professional traders when executing big orders, create an artificial volume on the opposite side of their trade before executing the orders to lower the impact cost.

So If I had to sell 50,000 shares of a stock at Rs 100, I will place a bid of say 10 lk shares on the buy side much below the current market price. What this does is make the bid quantity go up, seeing the bid quantity go up many retail intraday traders assume that the stock will go up and start trying to preempt the move by trying to buy the stock. When those buy orders start coming through, I will offload by 50,000 shares.

I am assuming you are talking about
Total traded qty or Total volume
Vs
Total Bid Qty

5 min volume in chart vs 5 min bid qtys in snapquote.

thanks for that wonderful piece of info…i have a doubt the chart volume in commodities is in individual units or lots example natural gas mean 1250 0r 1,crude means 100 or 1 in chart volume?cos i can see volume in 50000 ,100000 etc for specific 10 mins TF.
