Book on Fundamentals

Can someone suggest books to get knowledge on fundamentals of stocks such as banking sector etc which will help in trading (not investing).

Generally people analyse fundamentally to invest for Long term. Start with basic books on balance sheets - understand balance sheet. Than spend time on understanding financial ratios.

Zerodha university and NCFM fundamental books - both are good.

Once you have little bit of grasp on this subject, read Graham and warrant buffets letter. Go through few video series which explains warrens theory.

For trading - intraday or swing - altogether different ball game. Would suggest Steve Nison’s Candlestick a must read.

As someone who’s passionate about value investing, I’ve found that building a strong foundation in the principles of identifying undervalued stocks and focusing on long-term growth is key. It’s not just about following trends but understanding the intrinsic value of a company and its potential to provide returns over time.

If you’re interested in learning more about value investing, I’ve written extensively on this topic on my blog. You can check it out here:

I think you’ll find it really helpful!

Happy investing!

quick question: why you need to know the fundamentals in depth when trading (and not investing)? isn’t market cap and liquidity not sufficient (in fundamentals for trading)?
