Can a retail investor buy distressed debt directly with his limited means?

AS A RETAIL INVESTOR I AM INTERESTED IN BUYING OUT FAILED LOANS , NON-PERFOMRING BANK NOTES , DISTRESSED DEBT OF SMALL TO MEDIUM TICKET SIZE ( O/S AMOUNT WITHIN INR 5 LAC only PER NOTE ) .

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT BANKS OR OTHER LENDING INSTITUTIONS OR ANY ENTITY HOLDING SUCH DISTRESSED DEBTS ON THEIR BOOKS WILL SELL THEIR NOTES TO ME DIRECTLY ?

I quite doubt you will be able to buy out the distressed book as an individual. I guess the easiest way for you would be to float an entity and approach the banks to sell their distressed book, hopefully for a really distressed amount…maybe 25p for a Rupee or something like that.
