Can I reconvert/rematerialse mutual fund units which are in a lock in period (ELSS)?

I have few units in a ELSS mutual fund.
But now i want to close my demat account with that broker due to heavy charges and low service and i have switched to zerodha.
I read online that it is not possible to transfer the units held in ELSS mutual fund to another DEMAT account.
So is it possible for me to rematerialse the units by submitting a REMAT?
Or do i have to wait the 3 years before closing?

You can transfer units of ELSS fund to the Demat account which is in your name. Explained here.

You can check this article explaining the process for transferring Mutual Fund units to your Zerodha Demat account.
