Can NRI trade in Friends account

Can a NRI trade in Friends account (provided that the friend is sharing username/password)? If the friend is a newbie who wants help, can NRI help by placing the Intra day orders? Is it legal?

There is nothing illegal about this. But ideally no client should be sharing the password.
