Can we get holiday alerts on the last trading day before?

Right now, Kite alerts on holidays on the trading day. But it’ll be more helpful to get our positions right, if we get the alerts the day before.

We did send both push alerts and a Kite bulletin yesterday. However, discussing with the team. @BB789

I believe yesterday was an exception. Usually, it’ll only alert on the trading day.

For the record, I was notified about today’s holiday only today. No notification was sent yesterday during trading session.

Any progress or status update? Would be great to have this. I don’t think it requires much changes on your side either.

Hi @BB789 , the reason we don’t send push notifications for scheduled holidays is that these are announced well in advance and are already available on the holiday calendar. For any unscheduled holidays, we do send notifications.

That said, we’ll take this as feedback and add reminders to the holiday calendar so one can be notified in advance. The upcoming Terminal mode has holiday calendar widget, should also make it easier to track holidays.

If you don’t want to send to all users, perhaps,

  • to only users with open F&O positions
  • and/or consider allowing users to schedule alerts for holidays the day before, in holiday calendar: Option for “Alert me for all holidays in this calendar on the previous trading day”.
