Can we use MACD indicator for day trading?

MACD is basically the difference of 2 moving averages. It is a momentum oscillator ,primarily used for trading the trends. It is possible to use it intraday to trade the trends. There are different ways of using it such as signal line crossovers and center line crossovers. Have a look at http://tradingqna.com/1227/how-use-macd-indicator-nest-trader-with-screenshots-please?show=1227#q1227   , which has information on how to set it up on nest trader and use it.

There is no indicator that can forecast the market and make you rich.

Every indicator is designed to make your broker more money.

Indicators are lagging with price. So if stock is trending up or down then all give you perfect signal but in side way market you make only loss.

I never recommended to depend only on indicators.

Use trend lines and waves also.

every indicator is availble anyway, try to use on ur way that you comfortable with and confident of getting good trades.thats all matters

their is rsi ,ema and many others very good.dont just depend only one indicator use as much as u can to a perfect trade every time .GOOD LUCK

MACD IS A LAGGING INDICATOR WHICH MEANS IT GIVES A SIGNAL AFTER THE TREND HAS ALREADY STARTED SO AS SOON AS YOU BUY YOU START GETTING LOSSES BUT STILL MACD WORKS IF U KNOW HOW TO USE IT.

I USE MACD STEP TO TRADE, FOR EXAMPLE:-

IF THERE IS A RECENT MACD CROSSOVER, THEN I BUY AT SOME SUPPORT LEVEL TO REDUCED MY LOSSES i.e. AFTER A PULL BACK HAS OCCURED ALSO USED SOME LEADING INDICATORS WITH IT.LIKE RSI OR CCI OR STOCHASTIC TO INCREASE THE PROBABILTY OF YOUR TRADE.

Yes, the MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) indicator can be used effectively for day trading:

Trend Identification: Indicates the trend direction (positive for uptrend, negative for downtrend).

Crossover Signals:

Buy Signal: MACD line crosses above the signal line.

Sell Signal: MACD line crosses below the signal line.

Divergence: Alerts to potential reversals when price moves diverge from MACD.

Use MACD alongside other indicators for better confirmation in your trading strategy.
