CDSL Stock Transfer

My dear experts,

I have short question about stock transfer via CDSL.

I know it is very much possible to transfer stocks from one demat to another demat for individual.

In my case now, we have established a new partnership firm for which we have opened a new demat account. I have some stocks in old demat account. I want to ask if there is anyway possible to transfer stocks from demat to corporate demat account.

Is this allowed first?

Thank you everyone who is taking time to read and answer.

Hi sabankl87

If you intend to transfer shares from your individual demat account to a corporate demat account, you can do so using the off-market route. This can be done through CDSL easiest or by using a Delivery Instruction Slip (DIS).

  1. For transfers to an account with the CDSL Depository, you can use CDSL easiest. Please refer to the article How to transfer shares from the Zerodha account to other CDSL demat account using CDSL Easiest? for a detailed guide on how to register your Zerodha Beneficial Owner ID (BO ID) with CDSL easiest.

  2. For transfers to an account with the NSDL Depository, you can submit the DIS to Zerodha’s head office. To understand the process of transferring securities via the DIS route, please refer to the article How to transfer shares from a Zerodha demat account to another demat account offline?.

I would like to repeat my question here again.

My request was to move the stocks from
Individual demat to corporate demat account( like partnership firm).

Even though same person was involved in both but I really want to understand if this is possible.

Have you done this before?

Thank you

Yes it can be done as mentioned by @Vignesh_Gopal_B
