Change in settlement cycle for 531 stocks from Friday - 30th December 2022

From 25th February 2022 onwards exchanges have been migrating stocks to T+1 settlement in a phased manner starting with stocks with the lowest market cap. From 30th December 2022 onwards, the 11th batch of stocks will be moving to the T+1 settlement cycle in which there will be 531 stocks.

How does this impact me?

Due to change in settlement cycle, any of those stocks bought on Thursday, 29th December 2022, will not be available for selling on Friday 30th December 2022.

Stocks bought on Thursday will be settled by the exchange on Monday as per the old T+2 settlement cycle and will be available for selling on Monday.

Stocks bought on Friday will be settled as per their new settlement cycle, T+1, and will be available for selling on Monday.

We’ve added this Nudge on Kite explaining the same:

You can learn more about the T+1 settlement cycle here:

The list of all stocks that have been moved to T+1 settlement is available here:

When can I withdraw the credit received from selling these stocks?

The credit received from selling these T1 settled stocks will be available for withdrawal from the next day itself, that is on T+1.

Does that mean BTST trades will be possible on all stocks from Jan 27th?
@ShubhS9

No in all stocks. Stocks that are settled on trade-to-trade basis can only be sold after they are credited to your demat account.

Under T+2 settlement, you could sell T2T stocks only after T+2 days. Under T+1 settlement, you can sell these after T+1 day.

sorry @ShubhS9, am not used to cash segment but doesnt T+1 mean the next day when the shares should be available in my demat account? so why is btst not possible?
