Changes in collateral list from August 1

Hi, what will be Zerodha’s policy on this? Will they allow to continue till September with higher haircut or disable them completely on August 1?

Yup, to summarize. if you’ve pledged till July 31st, you will continue to get margins till November, however at reduced rates, after applying he higher haircut prescribed by NSE. After July 31, we will stop accepting these securities towards pledge for margin.

Hi @VenuMadhav

As many ETFs which were in the cash-component are also in the list, I’m sure many traders will need to sell them and buy another accepted scrip for the cash-component.

I request you to kindly help us save a day by allowing instant selling of pledged cash-component securities. If any help can be provided to traders to make them easier to revolve from one cash-component to another, it will be great gesture on your part.

thanks

@sunils can you check?

Hi @VenuMadhav

20th of July is long gone, and the date of applicable changes is coming near

However, no sign of the proposed change yet from Zerodha :frowning:

Hello Zerodha team, Bumping it again to the top of your inbox.

I’m not sure how I can go about rotating my (soon-to-be-unacceptable) cash collateral to normal cash or some other acceptable collateral.

My margin is mostly used, and if I could sell these pledged securities straight away, and get 80% of the sell value immediately, all will be good.

But if I place an unpledge request first, the overnight my margin will go into negative, and Zerodha will square off my positions or place a penalty.

Request you to kindly help solve the dilemma for me and other fellow traders.

thanks

Client who

We had a list of clients who had cash collateral (that was going to get reduced margins) blocked for margins, who we’d called and given an option of converting their cash collaterals.

I’ve dmed you, please share your client ID. Will have someone reach out and help.
