I want to close ICICI Direct account but it has holdings which include SGB.
In transfer and closure process, SGB would be transferred like other stocks or need to be rematerialize and then to be transferred?
Since it is NSDL → CDSL is there change in the process?

No I meant since I am closing the previous account, is there any process change.
Like in stocks when normal transfer, DIS slip has to be submitted but in case of account closure it is not required. Transfer cum closure form is enough.
Since your account has SGB’s the transfer of the same isn’t possible. You’ll have to transfer SGB’s as mentioned in the support article here: What is the process for an inter-depository SGB, G-sec and SDL transfer?
For the remaining holdings, you can choose closure cum transfer.
