Coin for NRI investors

Hi Nithin, I am a non resident Indian holding NRE/NRO accounts also PIS demat accounts with ICICI direct. I have two specific questions:

  1. Can I open a new coin account? I am not looking for a demat account but an account for MF only with a possible option to buy/ sale stocks later.
  2. Do I need to go thru PIS again, the process is pretty painful again or I can connect my NRO account to Coin and get started easily?

Currently, we do not have the option to buy mutual funds available for NRIs. We should have this option soon.
There are certain AMC’s which do not allow NRI investment. Apart from such AMCs, you would be able to invest in other Mutual Funds once we are live.

We aren’t opening Non-PIS account due to some operational issues. For now, only PIS accounts are supported. We can service you if you have your PIS account with HDFC, AXIS or YES Bank. We will be soon partnering with other banks.

@bdebasish If your PAN is KYC compliant, just go to the AMC website, create a login and start SIP/buy the Direct Fund.
As simple as it gets than paying “everyone” in between.

Hi Akshay

I am one of those NRI investors wanted to invest in Mutual Funds. Do you have any timeline when you guys are going to enable NRI investors on your coin platform ?

Thanks
Rafi

Bumping this up.

Any updates on Coin for NRIs?

Thanks!

With reference to information here:

So can an NRI open a normal trading / demat account with Zerodha, map their NRO (non-repatriable) bank accounts to it, and use Coin (and Kite) just as resident Indians?
