I wanted to trade commodity options (because the timing of the market matches my routine). However, I saw that that the volumes were really low for options such as CRUDEOIL 22JUL 9000 CE and even for GOLD 22 JUL 53000 CE.

Is this normal or am I looking at the wrong strike prices.

Normal. Liquidity in commodity options are way lower than NSE derivative market.

Besides easy way to identify strike with liquidity is to use the option chain that comes with Dhan app. The one where the yellow line is the longest is where you can find good bid and ask to place your trade.
