An analysis of pledged holdings of BSE 500 companies by Kotak found that pledged promoter holdings decreased in the December quarter. It fell from 8.3% in September quarter to 7.8%. The total value of pledged holdings was 1.98 lakh crores.
- Bajaj Hindustan, CG Power and Industrial, Reliance Naval and Engineering, JBF Industries, Suzlon Energy, IL&FS Transportation Networks and Fortis Healthcare had over 95% of their promoter holdings pledged.
- Pledged holdings decreased in Granules India, Future Lifestyle, Reliance Communications, Crompton Greaves Consumer and Bombay Burmah.
