I was checking out crude oil options and found the volumes to be ridiculously low. What is the reason for this? Is it because of the recent crude oil crash?
Yes crude is dead lately because of crash as well as higher margins levied by mcx on all crudeoil intraday products. Gone are the good old days hopefully for some time only.

Because people trade in future… usually option volume is low. You can check past data also.
