Difference between Crosses Above and Higher Then

Hi @Streak,

What is the difference between :-
Close crosses Above VWAP(0) and Close Higher Then VWAP(0). Both generates different numbers of signals. Seems like Crosses Above should be used with Moving Averages but it doesn’t throw any error in above mentioned case.

Here is a chart image that will explain this.

The entire time Close price was higher than the EMA50 however, for a brief period the close price crosses below and immediately it crossed above. These are crossovers.
Higher/Lower than can be true for all instances however crossing above will be true only when any two lines crosses each other. This is the same as chart trading.

On 6th morning if you deploy Close(0) crosses above EMA(50), you will not get a signal, however, if your comparator is higher than, you will get a signal at the close of the days first candle.

This was also explained in this webinar

Hope this gives a better clarification.

Thanks Krishnendu,

You have explained it clearly. I felt documentation of Trade Script is much better then Streak. They have explained everything with example.

Thank you for the feedback, Anand. For sure, will work on this.
