Is this the beginning of things which will push DMart to Nifty ?

I have heard before that DMart not being in F&O is the sole reason, it is not part of Nifty yet.

What is the timeline for these stocks to enter Nifty if they meet the criteria?
Which stocks are most likely to enter Nifty?
Can you reiterate the criteria to get included in Nifty?

@siva ELM margins for F&O stocks are different thus if position taken under MTF for a stock when it was outside F&O will result into unlocking of difference margin?

Or in layman’s language when margins defined by exchanges for individual scrips are changed periodically then will existing MTF positions will have an impact?

Zomato and Jio Financial are expected to be included in Nifty 50 in place of BPCL and Eicher Motors.

The free float market cap of the company entering Nifty 50 should be at least 1.5 times the free float of the smallest company which is exiting Nifty 50. That’s the criteria.

In my opinion, this criteria needs to be revised because all new age companies have very high free float due to several private funding rounds. Even PB Fintech has almost the same free float as BPCL.

Not the only reason as per an old post

Looks like they have changed this rule some time recently. That’s why LIC is being added to F&O although its free float is only 3.5%.

Once margins are charged nothing changes for you even after changes from exchanges at later stage.
